According to a media statement, “BBM for Android would start rolling out on 21 September and iPhone customers a day later from 22 September”. Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President of BBM at BlackBery said, “BBM is a very engaging messaging service that is simple to use and with more than a billion Android, iOS and BlackBerry smartphones in the market. BBM for Android devices will be available to all users globally, including India.
Like WhatsApp and Facebook, BBM is also one of the top social messaging application available for all the major platforms including Android, iOS and Windows. On the other side, BBM is working with special ID instead of mobile number or Friends. You can easily download and install BBM App on any Android devices and tablets for free.
The only issue before was that BBM was available for only Blackberry devices, but now it can be used by Android and iOS devices as well! Here we are going to share how to download and install the latest version of BBM for Android version.

Here’s how you can do it, although, you’ll have to have an android phone for this to work.

Step 1: Open the Google Play Store app on your phone.
Step 2: In the search bar, type BBM messenger.
Step 3: Find the BBM messenger app that is run by ‘Blackberry Limited’. This is the official app.
Step 4: Select the green Install button given on the app’s main page.
Step 5: The app will be installed on your phone, after that open the BBM Messenger app.
Step 6: You will be asked to enter your e-mail address if you haven’t registered for the app.
Step 7: Check your e-mail for the message to arrive, this can take a while. Once you receive the email, go back and re-open your BBM messenger app, and enter your address, and click on the next button.
Step 8: A Congratulations screen will appear, click Next.
Step 9: If you’ve never had a BBM Id, click on Create a Blackberry ID, if you do remember your old pin ID pin, enter that and skip to the 12th step.
Step 10: Fill out all the details in the page open in front of you, including your unique username, password, a recovery password question. You can enter more details if you want like your first name, last name, country, date of birth, etc.
Step 11: You will be shown then your BBM pin, this is very important and it’s recommended to take it down for future use. After taking note, click on continue.
Step 12: You can now invite people to talk about your messenger app through email, barcode, SMS, or by the PIN provided to you.
Step 13: Click on Continue to BBM.
